What are the benefits of RPET packaging made from New Zealand kerbside collections?

Every PET bottle or container recycled at Flight Plastics is given a new life which supports re-purposing from local kerbside collections, saving the import of virgin materials and reducing waste to landfill. Flight Plastics RPET containers are made from New Zealand recycled PET containers and are 100%recyclable. New Zealand currently imports around 20,000 tonnes of virgin PET every year. The Flight Plastics wash plant reduces the need to import virgin PET because it produces a supply of New Zealand-made RPET.

Is your packaging environmentally friendly?

We are committed to making a positive contribution to our communities by repurposing and reusing plastic waste, starting with our Alpaca blisters which are 100% recycled plastic. There are some parts of our packaging that can’t be recycled at this stage due to their componentry including our cold seal (backing paper). Please remove these from your Alpaca blister before putting it in the recycling bin.

Is Medico recyclable?

At this stage our Medico blisters are not recyclable. We are currently working through the process of how to make this product recyclable. Our goal is to have all our blisters 100% recyclable by 2027.

What material are you using to make your blisters?

All types of PET plastic waste are collected and then turned into high-quality RPET recycled plastic that our Alpaca blisters are made from.
